All rules are good for 3 years. Special note: Any deviations
from rules,specifications and engine partswill be subject to the approval of
the Board. Fines and/or suspensions willbe at the discretion of the Board
(at the time of the infraction)
The Board has control of all Club events.
All drivers must have a valid drivers license (if under 18
years of age, a consent form must be signed by parent or legal guardian)
No drinking of alcoholic beverages before or during racing.
Everyone is responsible for their actions and everyone must
abide by the track rules.
The Board may exercise article XIV of the bylaws when deemed
necessary by a quorum of club members.
To preserve the MVSCC reputation,any member conflicts such as
altercations on the track should be addressed with the President/Vice-President
or their delegate.Please refrain from confronting the member in question
without a board rep. Should a situation escalate, any board member or class
director can give warning(s) to a class member for behavior unbecomingto the
enhancement of the club.
Any new driver racing for the first time with the MVSCC must
meet with the President/Vice-President or their delegate to read/review the
new driver information sheet. This driver may race with an MVSCC Associate
membership for the first race only, driver must purchase a full membership less
amount of his/her previously purchased Associate membership in the same race
season.
1/ Rearview mirrors are allowed in 50/60s classes.No mirrors
allowed in 70s class
2/ Lights are allowed on cars.
3/ 50's and 60's classes only - single barrel OEM Carburetors
wexception 225 cu. Mopar slant six may run 2 barrell carb.
70s class - two barrell carb. permitted (see 70's class rules)
4/ No V6's allowed.
5/ Fuel line shut-off required within the reach of the driver.
Fuel cell must be 20-gauge minimum thickness metal encasement (box). Full
firewall between cell and drivers, complete to each side of the cage, with no
openings.
6/ Seat must be bolted to the frame.Fiberglass seats must have
a metal frame. An aluminum seat is recommended.Headrests are required,unless
part of the seat.
7/ Harness 3"lap belt and 3" shoulder harnesses attached to
chassis. Seatbelt/harness assembly must be dated less than 4 years at
beginning of current race season.
8/ Rock Screen - Full post-to-post.
9/ Drive Shaft - No drive shaft exposed to drivers compartment.
Must have a drive shaft loop. Drive shaft must be painted white. Shatter shield
over bell housing or safety bell housing required.
10/ Roll Cage - Must be made from .0125 wall seamless 1 ½"pipe
(no smaller) or 95 wall seamless 1 3/4" pipe. Crash guards must be made of 90
wall or greater 1 ½" pipe.
Homemade frames must have 3 sidebars with gussets and up-rights. If a frame
manufactured for racing (ex.rail frame) is used, gussets are not required
and the frame may be the third rail. Padding is required and at all points
where helmet may make contact. Padding must not be Pipe Insulation.
11/ Brakes - Working brakes must be on all four (4) wheels.
No shut off valves are allowed. Random brake testing willbe done.
12/ Weight cars in all classes must weigh a minimum of 2500
pounds, with driver directly after race, nothing added.
13/ Fire Suit - One piece highly recommended. No rips, tears
or excessive grease or oil. Class directors to check fire suits at time of
yearly inspection.
14/ Helmet - Must have 1990 Snell approval, 1995 or newer
highly recommended.
15/ Neck Collars - Must be worn during events.
16/ Gloves - Fire retardant gloves mustbe worn during events.
17/ Racing Shoes - highly recommended.
18/ Battery - Battery is to be mounted in a spill proof
container with top. Must be securely fastened. Self-starting.
19/ Tire - No restrictions.
20/ Wheels - approved aftermarket racing wheels or
¾ ton safety hubs mandatory on all four wheels.
No aluminum, plastic or beadlock rims permitted.
21/ Fire Extinguishers - On board fire system required for
all cars using methanol for fuel. Fully charged extinguishers are required
for all others. At the very least, each car must have fully charged fire
extinguisher in pit area.
22/ Hoods - Mandatory.Must cover radiator hose and be compliant
with style of car.
23/ Cars - Must be properly painted and lettered,to be allowed
to race.
24/ Actual car to win feature, regardless of class will start
the next feature at therear,ahead of rookies and those who ask to start at the
rear. Class winners who do not win the feature (go across the line first) will
be allowed to draw for position at the next event provided they do not have
three feature wins to date,
25/ After driver wins three (3) appropriate class features, a
driver will not draw for feature position for remainder of the season.Driver
will start at the rear ahead of rookies and those who ask to start at the rear.
26/ Lineup will be determined by drawing for position in
appropriate class. Heats will be run in the order of the draw. Features will
be run in reverse order, except the winner of previous feature and/or winner
of three features ahead of rookies and those who ask to start at the rear.
26A/ Cars that arrive late or that do not draw, start last in
both heat and feature, ahead of rookies and those who ask to start at rear.
27/ Points are not awarded to any classes.
28/ Directors will annually inspect and may reinspect cars
at any time
29/ $250.00 tear down fee. The money must be put up front.
Protested engine will be tagged and sealed. Directors will decide when and
where the tear down will occur. Two officials, the person protesting and one
crew member may be present.
